I’m really remiss in posting these, as it’s been three weeks almost since NY Pride. I didn’t post much because I really didn’t shoot much, and only took a cursory glance at the parade because I was tired and ready to go home, what with the bone chip in my right ankle acting up. But here’s a few goodies to sate someone’s curiosity. Unlike DC Pride, I shot these on film (I wanna say Kodak Ektar 100) with my new-to-me Contax RTS III and the 50mm f1.4 Planar lens. It’s not a bad combo for ‘street’ shooting, especially at an event where everyone is some kind of exhibitionist and WANTS to be seen/photographed.

Talk about exhibitionists… someone who really doesn’t care ๐

And a couple of generic New York photos, to help clean your brain after seeing that last one…

Great photos. Life’s rich pageant. Part of what’s funny about the “dick-tater” photo is that nobody’s even looking at him. ๐
That’s New York for you. It’s not something that really even registers because by New York standards, it’s nothing new or terribly outlandish. Now if he’d had a purple raccoon on his head, MAYBE… but then they’d all be looking at the purple raccoon.
Yeah, San Francisco’s a lot like that, too. Public nudity is actually legal here, and though it’s still pretty rare, more people seem to be getting into the spirit of it. That picture you posted a while back of Orphan Andy’s diner? There a little plaza in front of it where you’ll often see people lounging around in the nude these days. Typical of San Francisco, nobody is trying to ban it, just regulate it (requiring you to carry a towel to put beneath you if you plan to sit, etc.). ๐
I remember reading about that a year or so ago. I thought the kerfluffle was rather amusing as it applies to such a small number of people in the first place, and who are generally pretty conscientious about self-policing as they know their activity could be banned in a heartbeat with little chance of it being opposed or overturned.
