Here’s a charming little anonymous CDV of Rugerson & Hodges’ General Store and Post Office. No location given – maybe Pennsylvania or somewhere in New England? If anyone out there in internet land has any idea of the location, feedback would be much appreciated.

Such a distinctive building! I hope it is still standing. If it is I’m sure someone will recognise it. We are not too good at preserving our architectural heritage in Australia. What is it like in the US?
I love the way the card has been stamped and addressed. I am assuming that the name and Blanding was enough of an address to get it to the desired location in those days. A lovely item.
