Hello everyone. This is the start of my new personal photography blog, about the stuff that interests me photographically. I’m a large-format photographer working in antique and historic photographic processes. I collect antique and vintage photographs, mostly cased images (daguerreotypes, ambrotypes and tintypes) and CDVs (cartes-de-visite). I teach classes on antique and historic photographic processes, specifically platinum/palladium and gum bichromate. I’ll be writing about my experiences in shooting and printing, as well as collecting, and I’ll be posting class schedules here, so check back often for announcements about upcoming courses. I teach out of my own studio, conveniently located in downtown DC, walking distance from Metro and a short cab/bus ride from Union Station.
In case you were wondering, that’s me with my 14×17 camera.
